I'm hoping to go run my truck on the 21st here at the local drags.  It's just an old airstrip with a slippery launch pad and the timers are off by .3, but it should still be fun.  I made a few changes to the truck that should make a big difference.  The biggest changes that I'm most excited about are the slightly bigger cam, better stall converter, better fuel pump, reworked carb, lots of weight reduction, and better slicks along with a working posi.  I'm probably still gonna get stomped by all these bigblocks down here, but that's to be expected....my mild smallblock in a big heavy brick-shaped truck vs a built bbc in a 3200lbs or less aerodynamic car.  I'll post up results if everything works out and I end up making it to the races.  I still have to install more fasteners for my hood, bolt down the seat, finish the tub job, and cut the front springs down to get it to the proper ride height.

Here's a pic of what the truck looked like during the 12.8 run when I first built it.

Here's a pic of what it looks like now.

Here's the recap.
1.BBC camaro - 468, solid roller, ported heads, dominator, ET streets. - I beat him by 4+ cars and ran 12.0
2.Same BBC camaro - I beat him by 8+ cars and ran 11.9
3.2009 Camaro SS - LS3, bolt-ons. - I beat him by several cars and ran 11.9
4.Saleen mustang - built 306, all bolt-ons, all suspension mods, can hook in wet dirt. - I beat him by 4+ cars and ran 11.84
5.Notchback mustang - built 306, bolt-ons, 150 shot of nitrous. - I beat him by 5+ cars and ran 11.89

There were several minor tweaks that could have made the truck run faster, but I was happy with the way things were going so I left it alone.  Timing and jetting were conservative, slicks had 20psi, I wasn't doing a burnout before the runs, and I was rolling into the throttle rather than flooring it off the line.  Better shift points would probably help, but my shift light was MIA so I was shifting by gut instict.  I had my hood off and my huge air-cleaner was out in the wind...so I'm betting that killed my aerodynamics.

I still need to work on the timing and jetting the carb...I think there's a ton left in the tune.

Thanks. That's all the recent pics I got for now.  The truck looks like crap at the moment, but I'll snap some new pics when i get everything put back where it belongs.  I got some old shots of the motor going in and maybe a few others from years ago when I started this project.

I completely forgot to post up the videos from the races in March. They aren't good quality since our digital cam broke at the track, so we had to get creative.

This is the first race.  This is a BBC z28.  If you listen closely you can hear that I let off a little early and was on the brakes.

Here's the end of that first race from my wife's point of view.

Here's the race against the Saleen mustang.

I'm getting the truck ready for some races next weekend.  I'm getting new springs on Wednesday and hopefully installing them that night or Thursday.  Then I'll head to the next town for an alignment and pick up some metal to make a front spoiler and windshield bracing on Friday.  Saturday will be raceday.

I didn't get my truck finished in time.  I guess I was just being spoiled...I could've taken the truck as is was, but I wanted my new upgrades installed.  I bought a new solid throttle linkage and new front springs.  I couldn't get any of it installed before the races, so I decided I didn't want to go.  It also rained a bit too.  I heard that a 67 Camaro with a 383sbc was kicking everyone's ass though out there, but none of the faster cars were there to test him. Next races are in November.
