Crank Trigger

I was wanting to use a crank trigger on my motor. Does anyone know if a regular SBC crank trigger will work on the LS1 ATI dampner?
Thanks

If you think about it LS motors all have a crank trigger. It is just internal vs external. What would be the advantage to using an external one? Adjustability?
